Abigail In Perspective/A Visual Arts Competition

September 20th, 2009

The next show I am preparing for is in October. It is about Abigail Adams and how she inspires you. I’ve been reading about her, and am surprised to discover how much of a Feminist she was even for the time period she lived in. How frustrating it must have been for her, to live back then. She doesn’t compare to Feminists today, however I would say she could have easily fit in right around the 1950’s or early 60’s even.

I’m thinking of doing a portrait of her, maybe from the perspective of what if? What if she did live now? what would she be like? She would probably be a pretty Hip chick!

Quincy Arts Fest

September 19th, 2009

Right now I have two paintings on display at the Quincy Arts Fest. They will be on display at the Quincy Park & Recreation department until Sunday Sept.20th when the Arts Fest will be taken down.  My latest painting of Terry Francona made it into the Arts Fest’s juried part of the competition, and my painting titled “Sugar Maple” was in the “Best of Quincy” part of the show.

It was great being a part of the Juried competition, As I have not been selected to be a part of a juried competition since my college days!
